Dear Watch Member,

U053163 -For Attention of Businesses – ‘Swedish’ Company Offering to sharpen tools

We have received a number of reports which appear to be linked to a previous OWL  alert sent relating to a cold caller at a business premises which was  sent on 7th April. In that report a male cold called at a business in the Connah’s Quay area. The person claimed to be Swedish (but the informant stated that his English was very good). The cold caller stated he wanted to demonstrate a ‘tip hardening product’, but had no information on him, and he seemed keen to access the building.

Enquiries are ongoing following further reports which appear to be linked with this person/company. We would like to remind businesses to be very wary when dealing with cold calling visitors. Please see attached security and crime prevention advice.

If you have this cold caller visit, please do not allow them access to your premises.
