Buckley Business Forum
Dear Flintshire & Buckley Businesses
You are formally invited to attend a zoom meeting on Wednesday 15th September at 7.00pm
It’s been 3 years since the last bank branch closed in Buckley and we know that the services are missed by many. We also know that our town centre businesses have noticed the drop in footfall which has transferred to other nearby towns as those who need banking services travel elsewhere.
Mark Hooper from Banc Cambria will be joining us to discuss the proposals for a full-service, community banking operation to be established across Wales. Their plans include a network of fully-staffed branches across the Country. Banc Cambria are working with an existing financial institution to speed up their progress and the detailed project is currently being considered by the UK banking regulatory authorities, along with potential investors, including the Welsh Government.
They’ve visited Buckley on a number of occasions and have been working with Jack Sargeant MS, and Councillor Carolyn Preece who have campaigned hard for the town to be included in the early branch opening programme.
Mark will take questions from the floor, following a brief presentation on progress. Let’s take the opportunity to find out more and collectively put the case forward for a Bank for Buckley!’
